University of Melbourne start-up Cadmus targets cheats

[1] The University of Melbourne is testing out Cadmus, a software built by two alumni, namely Herk Kailis and Robbie Russo, who both earned their Masters degree in economics in 2014.

[2] According to Richard James, pro vice-chancellor (academic) at Melbourne University, the system ensures the protection of academic integrity of all student submissions and enables them to validate whether the student’s is saying the truth or not.

[3] Through Cadmus, academic staff can easily assess keystroke ­patterns, or biometrics, which warns them that certain sections may have been copy-typed from another source.
