Smartcards replace cash payments at Royal Melbourne Show

[1] This time, visitors to the Royal Melbourne Show in September had the option of using a smartcard payment system rather cash.

[2] The 11-day event was a boom for patrons who managed over 150,000 transactions with smartcards.

[3] Thousands of smartcards were issued by Perth-based Vix Technology for people to load money on and to be used in 76 contactless card reader terminals installed at more than 50 stalls.
