Scientists turn to crowdfunding to save Australia’s space research from cutbacks

[1] Australia’s federal government is cutting back its funding for science and so scientists are turning to crowdfunding.

[2] Despite of its recognition and productivity, the Mopra telescope situated at the Siding Spring Observatory in New South Wales is in danger of a shutdown.

[3] CSIRO’s resources are not enough to support the initiative for this year, and so a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign has been launched that will end on October 11.
