NSW cops to get portable fingerprint scanners

[1] NSW cops are set to receive new fingerprint scanners in addition to a fleet of Samsung smartphones and body-worn video cameras being ambitiously rolled out across the force.

[2] The state’s police force has started approaching technology vendors for portable fingerprint scanner options that will save officers from wasting time returning to the station to register and verify IDs.

[3] It is looking for FBI-certified scanners that can effectively share and match fingerprints against the national automated fingerprint identification system (NAFIS).
