National Broadband Network (NBN) will boost Australia’s GDP by 1.8%: new study

[1] According to a newly released study, the NBN will likely offer a substantial benefit to Australia’s economy – with the greatest economic benefits derived from teleworking and telehealth.

[2] The study was published by the Centre for Energy-Efficient Telecommunications (CEET) at the University of Melbourne and supported by the Victorian Government and Alcatel-Lucent.

[3] The figures show that the NBN can boost Australian GDP by about 1.8% and real household consumption by about 2.0%, additional to a “non-NBN environment”.
