Virgin Australia buys analytics firm for frequent flyer business

[1] Virgin Australia has acquired analytics group Torque Solutions to bolster its frequent flyer business and offer services to third parties, following rival airline Qantas into the data business.

[2] Torque Data was established in 2001 and provides predictive analytics, data visualisation and campaign automation to clients in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Singapore.

[3] The airline will integrate the company into its Velocity frequent flyer business with the aim of expanding its data analytics and campaign automation capabilities.
