NSW Government improves destructive storm response with Internet of Things

[1] The NSW Government is pioneering the use of the Internet of Things to help improve the state’s response to destructive coastal storms.

[2] Seven motion sensor buoys have been deployed along the NSW coastline to record long-term wave data to determine onshore wave conditions and identify associated coastal hazards.

[3] The historical data captured along NSW’s 1200-kilometre coastline are analyzed at NSW Manly Hydraulics Laboratory to monitor inshore and offshore wave conditions.
