Digital shift puts nearly half of Australia’s jobs at high risk, report warns

[1] An Australian developed app has won a prestigious United Nations (UN) competition for linking people fleeing natural disasters with nearby evacuation centres.

[2] The Guardian Evacuations app was built using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, and helps natural disaster victims to locate their nearest evacuation centre.

[3] The application, run by international GIS technology giant Esri and the UN’s Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), was entered in the Global Disaster Resilience App Challenge.
