21,000 premises to cut copper umbilical cord for NBN this week

[1] A total of 21,000 premises in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide’s Southern Vales area, Toowoomba, Perth and Townsville will this month transition from copper to fibre network.

[2] This follows NBN Co’s deadline to disconnect ageing copper telephone networks permanently as part of the move to the NBN.

[3] The disconnection deadline for the first half of this year will see more than 140,000 premises transition to fiber.
