Uber and UN teams up to create jobs for women

[1] Mobile-app-based transportation network company Uber has partnered with the UN in a new program that is intended to create a million jobs for women globally.

[2] Uber has committed to create one million jobs for women by 2020 as part of the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration made at the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women.

[3] Uber’s general manager in Australia, David Rohrsheim, said that empowering women with jobs is not only good for gender equality, but also important for economic prosperity.
