Atlassian resets HipChat passwords after ‘suspicious’ activity

[1] Australian enterprise software company Atlassian’s personal data and email addresses were illegally accessed, prompting it to access the passwords for some users of its HipChat messaging application.

[2] The “suspicious” activity exposed names, usernames, email addresses and encrypted passwords for less than 2 percent of HipChat users.

[3] No information was given on when the breach occurred or when it was discovered by Atlassian; however, the company insists that no payment information was accessed.
