Australia continues to fall behind in broadband race

[1] A new report shows that Australia is still lagging behind the global broadband race at 44th place globally on connection speeds, which is three levels down from the previous quarter.

[2] Australia’s average connection speed stands at 6.9 Mbps in Q3 2014, a 1.8 per cent decrease quarter-over-quarter,  though it increased by 25 per cent on year-on-year change.

[3] Australia also ranked poorly on broadband connectivity (connections above 4Mbps) at 47th rank globally. This was three positions down from the previous quarter’s rank.
