Comms Alliance calls govt plan a ‘data creation regime’

[1] The Australian telecom industry has disputed the popular notion that the new data retention proposal by the government will not be an added cost for the industry.

[2] They expressed their concerns at a parliamentary committee meeting, urging the government to clarify on costs of the data retention regime before the bill becomes law.

[3] The Comms Alliance argued that retaining data for two years would immensely increase costs for service providers.
