[1] The University of New England’s AARNet-connected SMART Farm Innovation Centre located at the university’s Armidale campus in regional New South Wales has been officially opened for business.
[2 The Innovation Centre sits in the middle of the operating grazing pasture of UNE’s Sustainable, Manageable, Accessible, Rural Technologies (SMART) Farm and it’s directly connected to AARNet’s fibre network.
[3] According to AARNet CEO Chris Hancock, the innovation centre is a dedicated research, education and outreach facility meant to showcase the integration of technology, science and farming.
