New Tech to Keep Young Drivers from Falling Asleep At the Wheel

[1] In a Transport Accident Commission crowdsourcing competition, Melbourne and Sydney-based Lauren Joyce and Frank Curcio triumphed the first ever Pause the Road Toll ideas hackathon.

[2] The duo won $70,000 for their rechargeable L and P plates which help young drivers avoid sleepiness while driving.

[3] TAC chief executive officer Janet Dore praised their concept and recognized it as modern and creative means of minimizing the effects of drowsy driving.
