ARRIS upstages Cisco to win “long term” NBN Co HFC contract

[1] Network vendor ARRIS Group has beat Cisco to win a “long term” NBN Co contract.

[2] The $400 million contact aims to re-purpose Telstra and Optus hybrid fiber coaxial cable to connect 3.4 million premises with high-speed broadband.

[3] ARRIS will use HFC technology that will allow NBN Co to build upon existing cable infrastructure, cutting huge costs over other alternative technologies.
