South Australia cuts CIO role

[1] South Australia has scrapped the role of CIO and merged the office to be under the responsibility of a Chief Operating Officer for public service delivery.

[2] This changes has seen the current CIO Brett Morris leaving the SA government, with the new Director’s role created being under the Chief Operating Officer.

[3] The SA government has insisted that the move does not downgrade the importance of the digital government, but a way of cutting costs and streamlining operations.
