Telcos rail against rushed metadata costing

[1] The Australian Coalition government has been put on spot for its approach of deducing the compliance costs of its proposed data retention regime, and blanket-labeling the process as hurried.

[2] The main concern for the telecommunications industry is that the costing assigned could be inaccurate, mainly because very limited time was given to the service providers to submit their evaluations.

[3] Another discontent in the whole issue came from a survey done by Pricewaterhouse Coopers on 24th last year, which asked for cost estimates from the service providers.
