[1] A new guide intended to help organisations lock down network assets, such as application servers and domain controllers, has been released by the government’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
[2] The aim of the Secure Administration guide is to prevent ‘Sony Picture-style’ hacks, by protecting accounts that have admin privileges.
[3] This follows the revelations that the majority of compromises of government networks involved hackers acquiring “significant privileged access, such as Domain Administrator access”.
