eHealth records: Australian Government seeks to clear way for opt-out system

[1] A bill that will allow trials of an opt-out approach for the national eHealth record system has been introduced by the federal government.

[2] The Health Legislation Amendment (eHealth) Bill 2015 was introduced into the House of Representatives today and will rename the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) to My Health Record.

[3] This bill aims to reboot Australia’s national electronic health records system to help improve the healthcare in Australia through instant access to, and sharing of electronic health records.
