Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) completes broadband performance monitoring pilot

[1] The ACCC has announced its successful completion of a pilot broadband performance monitoring and reporting program – and believes a program could be readily established in Australia.

[2] ACCC Chairman Rod Sims said that the monitoring and reporting program would also promote competition in the industry.

[3] The ACCC’s Pilot Broadband Performance Monitoring and Reporting Program tested about 90 volunteers’ home fixed-line broadband connections in Melbourne on various technologies over a three-month period.
