[1] Australian high-tech exporters are expected to benefit from a deal announced by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) that will remove tariffs on nearly 201 IT products over the next three years.
[2] Australia has been a WTO member since 1995 and was instrumental in starting the negotiations for tariff removal on IT products in 1996 as one of the original 29 members.
[3] The deal will cover product like next-generation semiconductors, MRI machines and other medical equipment, GPS technology for navigation, telco satellites and touch screens.
