[1] ANZ Bank has announced that customers with new model Android phones will soon be in a position to use their devices to authenticate themselves at an ATM and withdraw cash.
[2] The capability will come alongside the launch of ANZ’s long-planned mobile wallet, which will be available on all Android devices running version 4.4 and above.
[3] The new system will involve host-based card emulation that allows NFC payments to bypass a carrier’s secure element and emulate a card to talk directly to an NFC reader.
