[1] A new technology for testing pneumonia and asthma is undergoing testing at Joondalup Hospital in Western Australia, which will enable allows doctors to diagnose the diseases through a cough into a smartphone.

[2] The technology uses an inventive telehealth app ‘ResApp’ and an algorithm that is highly accurate in testing for pneumonia and asthma.

[3] Users cough into the phone’s microphone and ResApp’s algorithms analyse the sound of the cough by looking for signatures in that cough and matching them to the diseases.
