[1] iiNet broadband customers in New South Wales were weekend hit by long service interruptions during the weekend after a large distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
2] According to one iiNet representative, the outages were due to a large volume of external traffic directed towards iiNet Group service that affected the Whirlpool broadband user forum.
[3] Another representative confirmed that the outages plagued iiNet customers sporadically over Saturday and Sunday problem and was caused by a DDoS attack.
