[1] Westpac’s venture capital fund has unveiled its second investment in a US bitcoin start-up Coinbase in order to gain insights into digital currencies and associated technologies.
[2] Westpac’s Reinventure Fund saw an opportunity Coinbase due to growth in technological disruption and the fact that startup is one of the leading players in the bitcoin market globally.
[3] Coinbase raised $US75 million in a funding round in January that attracted giants like New York Stock Exchange, former Citigroup chief Vikram Pandit and a subsidiary of US financial services group USAA.
