[1] The Australian government is set to upgrade the country’s defence battlefield communications technology through a consortium led by Boeing at a figure of $900 million.
[2] The project will see the replacement of the Parakeet communications system installed in the 1990s with digital wideband voice, data and video transmitted over modern telecommunications infrastructure.
[3 The Australian Defence Force’s will be able to use modern information technology to link weapon systems, sensors, commanders and personnel in a networked environment.
