[1] Australian telco Telstra is planning to retire its dial-up internet plans and migrate the last of its remaining customers by the end of the year.
[2] According to Telstra’s management, customers still on a dial-up account would be contacted about the plans and allowed keep their existing email addresses as part of the migration.
[3] This has been driven by technological advancements and expanded availability of ADSL/ADSL2/VDSL, cable, fibre, wireless and satellite broadband solutions, including over the national broadband network, among other factors.
