Australian unis purge smartwatches from exams

[1] UNSW and La Trobe are the latest universities to list smartwatches on the banned items list during exams in a move to counter cheating threat posed by the new device.

[2] This follows notices posted by UNSW and La Trobe that stated that students would not be allowed to carry or wear watches of any kind in exams.

[3] The updated rules ban all wrist or handheld watches since it is hard to distinguish smartwatches from other watches.
