CrimTrac invites bids for national fingerprints system

[1] National crime data authority CrimTrac has invited bids for Australia’s national fingerprint database system used by police and law enforcement agencies.

[2] CrimTrac has been operating the national automated fingerprint identification system (NAFIS) for a long time and is the custodian of 6.5 million sets of prints from more than 3.8 million individuals.

[3] Morpho is the current NAFIS vendor, and the $30.4 million contract is due to expire in May 2017.
