Interpol wants more biometric data on Australians

[1] Interpol is lobbying Asia Pacific nations to be more forthcoming with biometric data to for better international police coordination and performance.

[2] Interpol’s director of operations Mick O’Connell noted that Australia and its neighbours a behind the curve compared to others across the globe in their systematic and proactive use of biometric data.

[3] The agency uses trans-border automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS), where only three percent of the details in the system comes from the Asia Pacific region.
