Budget 2015: Government unlocks funding for research infrastructure

[1] The federal government has announced $300 million of funding for the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) in its second budget.

[2] Among the projects that have in the past benefited from NCRIS funding include the National Research Network and the National eResearch Collaboration, Tools and Resources (NeCTAR) project.

[3] However, critics say the budget continues to hold research and development funding at the lowest level in Australia.
