Linux Australia server hacked, personal information may have been stolen

[1] Reports indicate that Linux Australia’ public server, the umbrella group for Linux user groups in the country, was hacked on March 22, and members’ personal information may have been stolen.

[2] The organization’s president, Joshua Hesketh, confirmed that the breach had been discovered after a large number of error reporting emails was generated by a server hosting the Zookeepr system.

[3] However, he did not indicate if personal data was stolen but insisted that the organization used a third party to handle credit card payments.
