NBN to pioneer DOCSIS 3.1 for gigabit speeds

[1] NBN Co has announced its plan to roll out DOCSIS 3.1 technology in the next two years that will enable it to offer gigabit data rates over the standard HFC network.

[2] This will make NBN Co one of the first telcos to deploy the DOCSIS 3.1 technology with download speeds hitting 10Gbps and upload speeds reaching 1Gbps.

[3] NBN Co chief technology officer Dennis Steiger said this latest technology will come to be the most state-of-the-art technologies used to deploy broadband services.
