ISPs agree to graduated warnings for pirates

[1] Australian internet service providers have come to a common ground and agreed to employ a graduated warning scheme for users engaged in online copyright infringements.

[2] This scheme is part of a draft industry code that was unveiled by the ISP representative body Communications Alliance, in order to comply with the April Government’s self-regulation deadline.

[3] Last year, the federal government year warned ISPs and rights holders that it would come in and track online copyright infringement on its own code if the industry could not agree on one.
