Australia Schools now require children to bring their own laptops or tablets

[1] Figures indicate that about 30 per cent of Australian schools now require children to carry their own laptops or tablets to school.

[2] Experts lament that this new trend has added to excessive screen exposure on children, and that teachers are not adequately trained to use this technology.

[3] The initiative is popularly known as “bring your own device’’, with some schools allowing students to choose the type of device to carry, while others mandate a specific type.
