[1] A new high tech unit to pilot cutting edge technologies has been created by the Australia’s Customs and Immigration agency following the merger of Customs with Immigration.
[2] The new unit will feature advanced analytics, biometrics, CCTV and traveler border clearance to improve service and security.
[3] Advanced facial recognition technology will also be used to identify suspicious travelers from CCTV feeds, and also analyze data from both immigration and customs systems to detect illegal goods.
