ABS mulls using big data to understand Australia’s ICT landscape

[1] In an effort to understand Australia’s digital economy and ICT landscape, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) seeks to use big data and data generated as an ‘administrative by-product.

[2] ABS conducted a review to look at the potential to use alternatives to direct surveys when compiling ICT-related statistics.

[3] The study is critical to Australia’s national and global economic performance, in addition to understanding the contribution of the sector towards the overall economy.
