Telstra drones used to capture NYE fireworks from 1000ft

[1] The New Year’s fireworks celebrations got a new viewing from ABC TV with the use of Telstra drones to capture the Sydney’s fireworks for TV and online broadcasts.

[2] The national use of its live-to-air drone-film coverage is “Australian television first”, having been approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to fly at 1000ft.

[3] The drones used were two purpose-built quadcopters equipped with HD cameras above Sydney Habour, with additional nine harbour side cameras and a manned helicopter.
