Australia’s Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) tackle rainforest weeds with drones

[1] A biosecurity project has been started by CSIRO to survey the vast rainforest locations near Cairns for invasive weeds, by use of unmanned drones.

[2] The project uses sophisticated imaging technology to spot invasive “purple plague” weeds that has been a menace in the rainforest.

[3] A separate project by Queensland natural resources department aims to use Yamaha RMAX drones for spraying all known weed infestations across the state.
