[1] TransGrid, a government-owned NSW’s power network operator, will use autonomous drones to inspect its electricity transmission towers to ensure the process is safer and more efficient.
[2] The Network operator has already invited bids for the pilot of one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which aims to test the viability of the new approach.
[3] Transgrid seeks to replace the current use of binoculars and climbing technicians, with UAV that can relay live video, and are more efficient, cost effective and safer.
