[1] According to the National Security Industry Specialist at Esri Australia, Australian defense could benefit from Geographic information systems (GIS) through better sharing of data between agencies and better decision-making.
[2] This follows last month’s signing of a three-year AU$16.5 million contract between the Australian Defense and Esri Australia for provision of GIS software, services and trainings.
[3] The deal will see the whole Defense organization get advanced geospatial and mapping capabilities that will lead to better collaboration, quicker analysis, more robust planning and sound decision-making.
