[1] Launched by Sydney-based big data startup Data Republic,Open Data Marketplace is a digital platform which enables organisations to swap data sets under strict contractual arrangements.

[2] According to Data Republic’s CTO Ryan Peterson, the concept of the platform was derived from the team’s philanthropic venture, with their eagerness to utilize data in solving social issues.

[3] Peterson confirmed that authorities and regulators were both happy and excited about the data exchange concept.
