Fingerprint ID breakthrough could aid police say CSIRO

[1] A house burglary inspired CSIRO materials scientist Doctor Kang Liang to develop a method of identifying invisible fingerprints which could be used by law enforcement agencies.

[2] His method involves adding a drop of liquid which contains crystals and can use a UV light to see invisible fingerprints `glow.’

[3] It allows a digital device to be used at the scene to capture images of the glowing prints, which can then be run through the database in real time.
