Victoria University developing medical electronic data system

[1] Victoria University (VU) researcher are working on privacy algorithms which will be used in a new electronic data system.

[2] The VU Centre for Applied Informatics director, Professor Yanchun Zhang, said that the news system will enable medical researchers to avoid privacy breaches during access and sharing of electronic data.

[3] This is in response to the April 2014 audit results of Medicare’s customer database that found some customer records that had been combined, giving rise to “privacy and clinical safety risks”.
