[1] The West Australian government is in the process of a massive program of work to transition the public service from an owner-operated IT model to a consumption-based approach.

[2] The massive as-a-service shift has seen the hiring of WA government’s first-ever whole-of-government chief information officer – meant to restore the fortunes of the state’s long-suffering technology environment.

[3] The inaugural appointee, Giles Nunis, managed the state’s $1 billion annual IT expenditure and looks to sign up partners to cover computer, storage, and a unified communications network-as-a-service.
