‘Pathetic’ internet speeds are stifling growth in Australia: Phil Ruthven

[1] According to an industry analyst and commentator, Australia’s woeful internet speeds are stifling economic growth and preventing firms from increasing exports.

[2] These were the views of Phil Ruthven at the Economic and Social Outlook Conference where he pleaded for a revamp of the National Broadband Network to allow outsourcing and ­information industries to flourish.

[3] Mr. Ruthven’s biggest concern was the general lack of commitment to the digital age in Australia.
