[1] Australia’s biggest telco, Telstra, has confirmed that the Attorney-General’s Department has approved the telco’s request for an 18-months extension to the compliance deadline for its data retention obligations.
[2] Telecommunications and carriage service providers in Australia were required to comply with new data retention obligations by Tuesday – and store the non-content data of all customers for two years.
[3] Most of the ISPs that had submitted a request for a so-called data retention implementation plan (DRIP) – requesting for extensions – but only Telstra has gotten the approval so far.
