[1] Telstra has announced the launch of its super-fast 4G LTE mobile hotspot in Australia where mobile voice calls will be progressively routed over the LTE data network in a huge change to calling.
[2] This is a revolutionary change to Voice over LTE or VoLTE that is expected to drastically cut the time needed for calls to connect – signifying one of the most complex changes to voice calling in 40 years.
[3] To enjoy the changes, customers would need phones capable of VoLTE and has the necessary software updates – “and be calling another VoLTEcustomer”.
