Northern Territory (NT) police arrest hundreds with new facial recognition tech

[1] The Northern Territory Police Force is now using facial biometrics technology to identify and detain wanted criminals – with 300 wanted criminals having been nabbed so far.

[2] The criminals were identified using NEC Australia’s New NeoFace Reveal solution as part of an enhancement of its regularly closed-circuit television (CCTV) system.

[3] The system allows the NT police personnel to quickly search through their database of images from drones, CCTV footage, phones and body-worn cameras to match with IDs.
